Maillard is an officer in the French Gendarmerie, where he has been working for nine years in different areas. During his years in the French Gendarmerie, he was appointed head of the tactical surveiilance unit specialized in organized crime and terrorism in the south-east area of France.

Since 2014 Maillard has been seconded to Interpol's General Secretariat Lyon as a Project Manager in the Anti-Corruption unit, where he is dealing with trafficking of performance-enhancing drugs in the framework of the co-operation agreement signed between Interpol and WADA.

Currently Maillard is also a PhD candidate in criminology at the School of Criminal Justice in Lausanne. Switzerland). He is specialized in police, criminal intelligence and intelligence-led policing, and has written and published several contributions on these matters.

Thursday June 8 he will be on stage in Oslo talking about trafficking of performance enhancing drugs.
