Prohibited List
WADA's list identifies the substances and methods that are prohibited to athletes in- and out-of-competition.
The Prohibited list is one of the key components of the World Anti-Doping Code. It provides a list of all methods and substances that are prohibited to use in-competition, out-of-competition and/or in particular sports.
The list is reviewed once a year and comes into effect on 1 January every year. The revised list is made available in October the previous year.
Please find WADA’s prohibited list here.
If you have bought a medicine in Norway and that is approved for sale, you may check whether it includes a prohibited substance or not by using our search engine here. Please be aware that you have to write the name of the substance in Norwegian.
Remember that as an athlete and in the context of anti-doping, you are responsible for what you ingest and use (article 21.3.4 of the Code).
