What about anti-doping?
In connection with the Parliamentary elections that took place in Norway on 14 September, Anti-Doping Norway wrote an “open letter” to all parties in order to find out their position regarding the anti-doping matter.
All the parties that received the letter answered. All parties wish to increase the efforts in the fight against doping, both inside and outside organised sport. The use of anabolic steroids in society is a concern.
In Norway, the use and possession of drugs is not prohibited, while selling and storing drugs are prohibited under Norwegian law. While two of the 7 parties that received the letter wish a full ban, several other parties believe that a more severe legislation is the way to limit the use of anabolic steroids.
According to Anti-Doping Norway, the signals given by the parties are positive. The Foundation now hopes that words will be followed up with action.
